Hi Luke, just discovered your website via a twitter post. Fantastic blog above. I was attracted to it because I use a Pentax K-7 (having had a pentax of one sort or another for over forty years). Great discussion on use of high ISO at night, and I notice that your blog has inspired a range of others to try out the technique and reproduce their results on facebook.

Hi Merete, thanks very much for your comment. Autumn is a great time to get out and about in Tas, and the leaves on Mt Murchison last week were looking great. I was at Cradle Mountain 6-7 years ago and was fascinated with the fagus. Bought a camera (Canon 5d and some good lenses) and headed back to photograph it. However, I am most dissatisfied with my photography skills so never managed to get a good shot.

I absolutely love the Red fagus leaves, Mt Murchison. I hope you will add this to your gallery of available prints so I can buy it. Please let me know when and if it is available.

Love this pics, can you please let me know which is the best time to visit Tasmania and Cradle Mountain, we are planing to organize a tour to Cradle Mountain one or two months and seeking information about when to travel and tips for trekking and hiking.

Hi Amanda, it’s one of my favourite spots in Tas. We’ve stayed there 3 times over the past few years now, including 7 or 8 years ago when it was pretty much just the remnants of a mining town with basically tin shacks for cabins! It’s great what they’ve done with it in a few years.

I visited in Corinna in 2008, was from WA and now I live near Launceston. It is a stunning area… The cabins were lovely to stay in, we went canoeing and took the huon pine boat trip up the river… simply gorgeous
