Enchanted Walk Cradle Mountain

Enchanted Walk Cradle Mountain – in the snow! Most visitors to Cradle Mountain, particularly those staying at the Cradle Mountain Lodge would have given the short Enchanted Walk a go. It is an easy boardwalk alongside the Pencil Pine Creek, and generally only takes around 20 minutes. Last month, however, due to the huge amount of snow around, my photography tour group spent almost 3 hours exploring this fantastic patch of forest! Not all of that was because of the snow of course, we generally take our time on walks like this but it was still the longest I have ever spent on this creek 🙂

The snow was much deeper outside the rainforest canopy!

My next Cradle Mountain trips are now in place, in autumn 2018. The May 15-18 workshop is in fact already fully booked, so I have set new dates from June 11-14. Both these dates will include night sky sessions at Dove Lake, a visit to the Tasmanian Devil Park (Devils@Cradle) and will include macro sessions in the forest searching for the tiny autumn fungi.
