Sunset, Berriedale, Hobart

The afternoon was quite grey and dull, but a fiery orange sunset burnt the sky briefly this evening resulting in these shots. As with pretty much all sunset photo shoots I shot the above with my ND grads. The ND grads in a shot like this darken the top half of the scene (which is very bright compared to the bottom half) but don’t affect the bottom half so much. They also stop down the light meaning a longer exposure is necessary. Long exposures are great over bodies of water as it smooths out the ripples and waves.
