Tour notes

Most of the walks in the Bay of Fires will be on beaches or rocky foreshores, so please bring shoes that have good grip and are worn in and comfortable. Most walks are short and exploratory of nature, there is no serious hiking or long walks carrying gear required to get the most out of this workshop. The walk to St Columba Falls is on a very well maintained track, although conditions could be wet and slippery near waterways.

The exact time of sunrise/sunset shots; and therefore hotel check in and meals will depend on the seasonal time of the sunset/sunrise. You will receive a detailed itinerary prior to tour commencement.

The aim of this workshop is seascape photography, which can produce stunning images. The very nature of this tour will bring us into very close proximity to crashing waves and sharp and slippery rocks – please take all necessary precautions for your own gear; and please do not proceed further than you are comfortable in the low light conditions. Luke O’Brien Photography will not accept any responsibility for any damage to camera equipment which results from participation in this tour.

The weather is generally a lot milder on the east coast than the west coast, but it is always a good idea to check forecasts in the lead up to a workshop and pack accordingly. Click for weather forecast at St Helens.

All arrangements for this workshop will be made by Leatherwood Tasmania Tours of which Luke O’Brien is co-proprietor. Leatherwood Tasmania Tours is tourism accredited and maintains all the relevant licences and insurances for operations in Tasmania.
