Arthur River & Tarkine Coast Photography Workshop
$2495 per person
Includes:
- four nights accommodation at Arthur River Lodge
- all transport (starting & finishing Hobart)
- Arthur River Cruise with deluxe BBQ lunch
- all meals for the duration of the trip. Due to the remote location of Arthur River we will stop to pick up supplies in Smithton for breakfast and lunch which we will self cater/prepare each day. Dinner will be at the nearby Marrawah Inn.
About our accommodation: The Arthur River Lodge is a shared living arrangement, a little different to my other tours. Everyone will of course have a private bedroom but we will all be under the same roof, sharing two bathrooms, and a large and open living/kitchen area which we will use to self-cater breakfast and prepare lunches to take away with us on our daily outings.
Itinerary
Day 1: Depart Hobart for Arthur River It is a long drive to Arthur River but once there our movement is minimal as our accommodation is right near the “Edge of the World” on the Tarkine Coast. Sunset/dusk shoot every night.
Day 2: Arthur River Cruise Highlights: Half day cruise on the Arthur River including gourmet BBQ lunch.
Day 3: Full day on the coast Highlights: We will explore the stunning coastline at leisure today, checking out the stunning rock formations and lichen covered coast. Post processing.
Day 4: Tarkine Forest Drive Highlights: We will spend most of the day exploring the Tarkine Forest Drive with multiple stops and photo opportunities in the lush green forests as a nice change to the coastal scenery.
Day 5: Return to Hobart Highlights: We will break up the drive back to Hobart with scenic stops on the way such as the Nut and/or Dip Falls. Return to Hobart around 18:00.

Tour Notes
Sunset is approx 18:15 in late September. We will shoot sunset then go straight to dinner before returning to our accommodation for the evening.
We will only undertake easy hiking, the main aim of the workshop being tuition and shooting time. It is important to note of course that the nature of the workshop involves uneven rocky shorelines so please take care in the low light of dusk.
** Please take all care and responsibility for your own equipment while outdoors **
The Tarkine is a remote area in the far north west of Tasmania which means all sorts of weather is possible. Please check the Marrawah weather forecast before the tour departs for an idea on what to expect on the coast. A raincoat and rain pants should be considered essential, as well as lots of warm clothing including thermal layers and possibly a down jacket for extra warmth and comfort. An umbrella can be a useful piece of equipment too, especially if you enjoy macro photography. A full list of suggested/recommended gear will be provided during the booking process.
