Here are some shots from Mt Wellington as the mist rolled in over Hobart one evening. I really like the contrast of nature in the foreground (ie the boulders and the silhouette of the trees) and the bright lights of Hobart spread out far below. Of all the shots I have to say the 5th one in the sequence works rather nicely – what do you think?
Shot 1: The scene was set – mist just behind the trees and the city lights of Hobart twinkling in the distance. I was happy with the composition right from the start – now to see how the light and mist would perform…
Shot 2: Things are getting better here… the mist is looking good!
Shot 3: The mist behind the trees disappears for a while as the lights really start to dominate
Shot 4 I am really enjoying the colour change here but where is my mist!
Shot 5 There we are – reward! The mist streams back and the glow of the city is given a soft edge. This one is my pick of the evening – what do you think?
By Shot 6 most of the city lights have been swallowed up. Shows over…
