The tulips and lighthouse at Table Cape

Table Cape Tulip Farm

The Table Cape tulip farm comes alive with colour every spring on Tasmania’s north west coast. The blooming is usually accompanied by busloads of tourists and a festival atmosphere with multiple events over a few weeks in late September and early October.

2020 and the coronavirus have thrown all the usual plans out the window of course and this year while the tulips bloomed as they always do, the events and crowds were absent. With blue skies and sunshine forecast the other day I took the opportunity for a quick visit and enjoy a relatively crowd-free day in the tulips.

It had been many years since I last visited the tulips so it was great to get up there again. After grabbing some overview type shots of the tulips, I spent a bit of time with the camera at ground level (thank God for the tilting screen!) and shot a tulips-eye view of the sunny blue skies.

My personal favourite from the day. I like the almost translucent, ghost like white in the brilliant sunshine

Starburst!

The farm is open through to the end of October so there is still time 🙂
