Tarkine Book

There is a brand new Tarkine Book out now that includes multiple essays by a variety of authors, and photos contributed by many Tasmanian photographers.

Titled simply “takayna | Tarkine” the book outlines many compelling reasons the area deserves secure protection as a National Park and on the World Heritage list.

I am very proud to have been asked to contribute a few of my own images to the book. I have been visiting the area for more than 20 years and am old enough to remember Corinna as a collection of old tin-shacks in an old miners village – it is remarkable how much it has changed in 20 years!

The book was produced by Australian Geographic and the Bob Brown Foundation and is available from both organisations.

takayna | Tarkine is a very special place. The coast is amazing, the forests phenomenal, and the grand scale of the place has to be seen – and felt – to be believed. I would encourage everyone to grab a copy of the book and to allow yourself to be inspired by the written words and the great collection of photos contained within. The Tarkine is there to be explored and to inspire. This book allows you to do both.

The next step then of course is visiting it and seeing it all for yourself too, and I run at least one tour a year there, it would be great to have you come along 🙂
