Friendly Beaches Stormy Skies

Friendly Beaches, Stormy Skies – looking back over a trip to the Friendly Beaches from years ago, and it is the stormy skies that make the most dramatic images. Stormy skies usually go hand in hand with dramatic wave movement which is a great combination for some seascapes with lots of movement and action 🙂

For a seascape photo session on the coast here I’d be making sure to have a tripod (of course!), some neutral density (ND) filters to allow for a longer shutter speed, and your favourite wide angle lens. Perhaps most importantly would have to be some good lens cleaning gear for the inevitable seaspray that will get on the front of your lens and filters!

The Friendly Beaches is located to the north of Coles Bay and has its own campsites so is a great place to set up for a few days if you are exploring the east coast. It is only 20 mins down to Coles Bay so you aren’t too far away from the essentials.

Check out the Freycinet National Park website for all the details on visiting the area.
