I run a half day (5 hour) “Hobart & Surrounds” photography workshop. This workshop includes two of my favourite photography subjects – waterfalls & sunsets! After meeting up at a time to be decided (start time depends on sunset time) we travel to a couple of beautiful waterfalls in the foothills of Mt Wellington for a couple of hours of guided tuition. Topics to discuss are slow shutter speed and aperture (and the relationship between the two) as we shoot cascading water and the little details that make photography in the forest so enjoyable.

After the waterfall shoot we will have a short break as we transfer to Hobart’s eastern shore. Depending on the day we might like to grab a coffee and discuss what we have learnt so far, but we will be back in the field well before the sunset in order to find the best compositions while we have lots of light. We will also discuss filters and other accessories required in order to capture sunsets and experiment with long exposure in the twilight. You are guaranteed to learn a lot and finish the day with more than a few “keepers”.
