Bay of Fires Photography Tour Report

During December I ran my 3 day Bay of Fires photography tour as a private tour, and here are a few of the highlights.

The workshop is based at Tidal Waters in St Helens where we are a 10 minute drive from the wonderful Bay of Fires coast around Binalong Bay. In the three days we undertake 2 sunrise shoots and 2 sunset shoots at various locations around Binalong Bay and St Helens. Full details on the workshop can be found here.

Bay of Fires Photography Tour: Day 1

We spend the daylight hours upon arrival doing a “famil” with some of the most scenic locations which allows us to start formulating a plan for our dusk and dawn sessions. We will keep an eye out for interesting rock formations to make our sunrise shoots all the more eye catching and we will also watch for wildlife – pelicans are regularly spotted in and around Binalong Bay!

Bay of Fires Photography Tour: Day 2

After sunrise on Day 2 we do a half day trip to the magnificent green rainforest surrounding St Columba Falls, as a nice contrast to the coast sessions. The focus here is of course cascading creeks filled with mossy boulders and lush tree ferns. It is a good place to practice some macro photography too.

After another sunset and sunrise shoot in Binalong Bay we then spend our final morning at the Eddystone Lighthouse and Picnic Rocks area. This area is a real highlight of the Bay of Fires and no photography workshop would be complete without some time here!

Also included in the workshop is a post-processing session where we discus the ins and outs of Photoshop. If weather permits a night shoot is always on the cards too.

Upcoming dates will always be added to the main “Tours and Workshops” page of my website – click here.
