Fungi – North East Tasmania

In the first of what will no doubt be many posts of Tasmanian fungi this autumn, here are a few shots taken in the forests of north east Tasmania last week. Needless to say, the macro lens is the way to go as is getting right down on your hands and knees…

I cannot lay any claim to being an expert on fungi so if you know what any of these are called feel free to let me know!

Anyone interested in a photography workshop which includes fungi should consider either my full day Mt Field and Styx valley workshop or my three day Cradle Mountain workshop.

All workshops run on demand for a minimum of two participants. There are no pre-requisites regarding experience level. Being keen to get out and explore is in fact the only real necessity!

All of these shots were taken using my 100mm f2.8 macro lens. Aperture was always fairly wide open but I stopped down to around f8 or f9 when there was a little background that didn’t distract too much from the subject.
