Junee Cave Maydena Tasmania

Junee Cave

The Junee Cave is just out of Maydena and well worth a visit if you’re spending a bit of time in the area.

The very scenic creek just before the cave

It is a short drive following the signs out of the main intersection in Maydena (turn right at the general store and go on past the Giants Table) to check out this scenic location.

The walk only takes 10 minutes or so each way and takes you right into the cave entrance where the creek that disappears into the Growling Swallet emerges here to continue its flow!

The rainforest clad creek is really quite picturesque

Moss covered branches and fast flowing cascades – my idea of a good time 🙂

It is a very easy, family-friendly walk. After 10 minutes or so you’ll reach your destination and the boardwalk ends right at the mouth of the cave, which is basically fenced off but you get a very good view in.

The Junee Cave is included on my private 3 day tour to the region.
