Pink Robin
This little pink robin put on a delightful little show on the Whyte River in Tasmania’s Tarkine for one of my groups a couple of years ago. I don’t post a lot of bird shots so I thought it might be nice to share these.
Conveniently he was in a nice sunny spot so shooting was (relatively) easy. He was a quick little fellow, always looking this way and that. I used a fast shutter, fast burst mode and an auto ISO, and underexposed a couple of stops to avoid overexposing.
At one point something clearly caught his eye and in an instant he was gone, dive bombing the poor unsuspecting morsel down near the river somewhere.
Anyone wanting a little more info on the Pink Robin should check out the Birdlife Australia website.
I have a couple of Tarkine Photography Workshops on the horizon. 5 days at Arthur River in November and my 6 day “Complete” Tarkine next May (which also happens to be fungi time!). Both include river cruises and a chance to shoot little robins, sea eagles and maybe even the elusive Azure Kingfisher!
