Stunning sunset rainbow

On the way back from last weeks private 3 day Bay of Fires workshop, we were treated to an absolute ripper of a light show including this double rainbow as the sun sunk low in the west. Did we stop and shoot for a bit? You bet we did 🙂

Driving south from relatively clear skies in the north east we encountered these storm clouds south of Campbell Town and Ross. I also pad a lot of attention to the nice clear gap in the cloud right on the western horizon as light showers fell around us thinking there sure was a lot of potential for something nice to happen…

Storm clouds and showers to the east and the sun getting low in the sky in the west. Perfect 🙂

The sunset light on the rainbow was even better.

The rainbow was visible for a good hour or more. In fact we left our first location thinking we’d better keep moving only to pull over again shortly after as the sunset colours started to mix in with the rainbow.

Needless to say we were very late back to Hobart but it was well worth it to enjoy a sight like this 🙂
