Aurora Australis Photography Exhibition & Festival Hobart

Anyone interested in the night sky in general and Aurora Australis photography in particular should make time next month (August 2~22) to visit the Aurora Australis Festival at the Signal Station Cafe on Mt Nelson. The festival includes a 3 week exhibition of Aurora Australis photography, taken by over 20 local Tasmanian photographers. My image of the Aurora Australis over Coles Bay & the Hazards from March 17 2013 will be proudly on display, and I am looking forward to meeting many of the other local aurora chasers in Hobart 🙂

After viewing the exhibition make sure you enjoy a meal or coffee at the fabulous Signal Station Cafe, which has some lovely views over Hobart and the Derwent River. The Festival also includes other events related to the aurora australis. There will be an observatory visit, photography workshops, and talks and movies all about the aurora. For full details visit the Festival program page on the website. Thanks to Tasmanian photographer Loic Le Guilly for organising this very unique and exciting event!

To view more of my aurora images from the past year or so check out my “index” page which has links to all my Aurora Australis photography of the past 12 months, as well as a few tips and suggestions for seeing and photographing the aurora yourself.
